Laurel And Hardy Fully Restored

 I remember, when I was a kid, I watch old Laurel and Hardy movies ,on a black and white analogue television, those films were full of scratches, pops, fuzzy picture etc. Now today they are fully restored, as if they were filmed yesterday.

Today when one takes a picture or video with their digital camera, it actually  takes three black and white photos/videos, but each one goes from different colored filters red ,green and blue, then they are combined to make one color picture in just one instant. Color film for example has three layers of black and white film layers and you've guess it, each one shot through a different filter red, green and blue place on top on each other. Believe it or not, before that the color movies shown in theaters had three movie projectors going at once, and again with the red, green and blue filters. 

Even  the Library Of Congress stores films, they divide the film in its separate red, green and blue filters, even recent movies are store that way ,in the Library of Congress, not dvds or other media. Films that are kept stored in a air conditioning environment. lasts longer.

Some time ago Stan Laurel's young daughter was wondering, why that Hardy is always picking on her dad, in the movies and their shorts, however in the youtube colorize video below the tables have been turned, as Stan Laurel bests Oliver Hardy:

Laurel and Hardy probably agreed to appear in the following movie for their young daughters.

A youtube video below is a  movie titled "The March Of The Wooden Soldiers"* ,a family and kids musical, comedy  fantasy. It is rated TV-Y7 meaning kids under 7 should not be watching it. When kids are below the age of 7  they usually cannot tell reality from fantasy, is maybe the reason why.

In the movie below they mention a Christmas in July, maybe the writers wanted to explain, why there is no snow on the ground,.

Keys Frozen On Your Laptop Keyboards?

 If you suspect that your keyboard is frozen, but yet your cursor keys do work,  there is hope .Maybe you're not pressing the keys hard enough, but it could be the main reason, you don't have the strength  any more, because of old age, like me,. There are two options:

First option: Go to settings on your computer and try adjust your touchpad, mouse and keyboard settings, and see if that works. Have a younger person help you.

Second option: And maybe the best one, is to get a mouse, get one that uses  a laser, instead of of a mouse ball, the latter has to be clean from time to time, and make sure it's the one that can be plug into your one of your USB  ports. There are even ones that come with a scroll wheel, in the middle of the two buttons. 

 Your new mouse may come with installing software or maybe not, any more if you plug a new device into the computer, it will look for the installing software on the internet, wait for 10 to 20 minutes then you're ready. A dialogue box will pop up and saying 'Installing new software for your device" and will let you know when it's done. A mouse usually cost about $20 or more. Lot cheaper than buying a new computer.

Simply use your mouse to move the cursor to your browser, and simply left click on it, 

On the blank space in the search box left click the mouse again to get  the "I bar"

 and you're ready to type with your laptop's keyboard and simply left click again to search. 

 Note: if you're left handed, you can reverse the order of the keys on the mouse, by going to mouse settings on your laptop. A person does not need much streght to use a mouse since they are spring loaded.

Another option: Buy an an external keyboard, as before get the one that plugs into one of your USB ports and see if that is easier. There are even wireless ones, which allow you to sit in your easy chair and type away. :)

Yes, there are function keys  on top of your laptop and maybe you accidently lock your keyboard, if you have such a key, just press it again. No one wants to go through setting their computer to factory settings and waiting for 6-8 hours. (end)

My Relationships In War

Since it is nearing independence day I decided to blog about my relationships that were in various wars and what America Armed Services they were in. I was in the Navy myself, but this blog is about others and not myself, and let's not forget about the women that help through the war in the past and in the present, they even flew the planes and made weapons, and let's not forget about the service dogs that serve our country.

             

Let's start with Thomas, he was my father's father and in WWI he and his team ,after capturing the Nazis, fed the starving and naked Jewish people that were imprison in concertation camps. I will let your imagination take over from here, on how the Jewish people were clothed and fed. 

After Jewish people got their strength back, the Americas took them to their head quarters and there were orders that were bark out "Line up for chow" most of the Jewish people knew English, but had no idea what the word "chow" meant, until they saw various food on various tables, and they were told they can eat to their hearts' content, as you might as guess, the Jewish people team up with the Americans to put Hitler down.

       

Homer was my dad and he fought in WWII . He sign up for the Marines for one year. My dad did have a couple of war prizes, that he stole from Hitler, no one cares if you steal from Hitler. A lamp and a Jewish typewriter, that typed from right to left with Hebrew letters, rather than left to right. Apparently Jewish people read from Right to left, they even have a backward question mark.

     

When Homer  died, I was honored  with the American flag on top of his coffin, I had to sign a waiver, to make the government property my own personal property. My family had documents that prove my dad was in the Marines, otherwise the flag would have cost me $300.

     

Larry was my brother, he had joined several American armed services, one after the other. When a term was up on one service, he join another one. My mom, Mary, told my brother "Larry ?, You're going to be an old man before your time !  which my brother replied "Yes, but I will be a rich old man !"

My toxic uncle Don was in the air force and a member of the Flying Tigers. I did not like him too much, he always likes to insult and downgrade a lot, he even told me not to learn Japanese or German, I disobeyed him and learn some German. One day, I had showed my fangs and let him have it, I had to. Enough is enough.

     

My uncle Dean was a lot friendlier, he was in the Army maybe in other services, I do not know, but later he got a job at the cheese factory. I was giving his watch and one of the roses of his coffin, which I had put in a plastic freezer bag and place in the freezer, which I had kept for four years.

Air Conditioner Not Working? There May Be A Simple Answer?

 Most window air conditioners now a days have a built in circuit breaker in its plug, it's the second one down, so what is the first for? That is to test the unit:

(1) While the air conditioner is running, press the first button until it clicks, that should trip the built-in circuit breaker and the unit turns off.

(2) Go to your house's circuit breaker box  or fuse box to see if any fuse has blown, or if any circuit switch is tripped. If NOT then it's working the way it should;  Otherwise call an electrician or move.

(3) It may be easier to set your unit to off first and unplug it  , then press the second button down, until it clicks, plug it back into it's outlet, all the way in, don't leave any of the plug blades expose, and turn the unit back on, if it works then you're okay.

If your air conditioner has a temperature switch set it at "5" first and on low cool and keep it there, if you get cold turn the temperature switch a bit at a time, until you find your Goldie Locks' zone.

If you have the temperature switch up all the way usually number 10,then set is to high cool. But low cool is best.(set at 5)

Some units have an auto or eco switch, that turns the fan off automatically to save energy, however fans only use 100 watts of power at 5 cents @ kilowatt hour $3.75 a month. Also there is a MODE switch that you can set it to cool  (fan runs continually) or set if for  just fan only for cool evenings and nights.

.The only reason why people may want to use AUTO or ECO  when it is extremely hot at nights and cold in the mornings. That way  when the compressor turns off, the fan also turns off, no drafty cold mornings.

     What is the cost of running a 500 watt air conditioner?

Assuming you are using the unit 24 hours a day and turn all the way up.. then the cost @ 5 cents kilowatt hour is about $22.34  a month, so in that case let it ride. :)  I, myself, now have two window air conditioners running. my cost?.... about $44.68 a month.

                     ABOUT CEILING FANS

You may know that warm air rises, so in hot weather set your celling fan to run counter-clock wise, that way the cold air will rise up to the ceiling cooling the warm,  thus making the whole room cool.

...And of course during the cold weather set your ceiling fan to run clock-wise. This time you want the warm air on the ceiling to go down to the cold air at the bottom, thus warming the whole room.

In summary, if your unit is not working, unplug it, and press the second button down until it clicks, and plug it back in, if it works then you're fine. Again don't let any blades in the electric plug expose.

Vegan and Balances

There are animals, that includes people, who are strictly carnivores (eats only meat),herbivores (they only eat plants) and finally omnivores (they eat both meat and plants), I myself fit in the latter category. 

Right now that are at least 5% of people in the world that are vegan, but did you ever wonder, what would  happen, if for some strange reason, the whole world became vegan?.... Will we be over run by the animal population? The answer is no, nature will still maintain its balance; Foxes will still be eating small mammals and birds, lions will still be eating zebras etc. Nature's population control.

At the end of the Bible it says: "The lion will be sitting next to a sheep" of course it will, the lion will be eating it, unless the Bible was just using them as metaphors.

Now suppose for some reason all the animals in the world became vegan, what would happen to the plant population?, There may NOT be enough plants to feed all the animals, so the plants will need a way to defend their selves from animals, so they can increase their population, they might evolve to become carnivorous; Imagine you try to bite into an apple, but the all the apples of the tree attacks you and eats you instead. Yes, sounds like science fiction, but there are carnivorous plants, like the Venus fly trap, fortunately there are no carnivorous plants that are big enough to eat humans, as of yet.

Carnivorous plants live on poor nutrient soil, so they only way they can get their nutrients is to catch live prey like bugs , small animals or animals about the same of an adult raccoon. So why are the carnivorous plants there? They're there to give off oxygen, plants "breathe" carbon dioxide and "exhale" oxygen.

Are you a vegan and you start feeling  dizzy and  do not know why? It could be because of the lack of salt, so how much salt does a person need? It depends on your age, young people LESS than 2300mg, older people LESS than 1500mg. So don't skip the salt. Of course if adding salt to your diet does not solve your dizzy problem, you will have no choice but to contact your doctor, it may be cause by something else.

She's Afraid Of Men

 Some time ago, there was a girl who was afraid of men, let's call her "Tia" to protect her privacy .She had no problem being with men, when they were outside, it's the men who live alone that she is worried about, because they wanted only one thing from her. Yes, she was even afraid of me.

One day in 60 degree weather her furnace quit working, I heard a knock on my door, it was "Tia" and she asked me, but still afraid of me, if I would try to fix her furnace. I told her yes, and also said she won't owe me a thing, I will just do it, just out of kindness.

So I got my tool box and we went to her house . I have check had her thermostat, it check out okay, then I open the furnace door, turn the thermostat on the lowest setting, turn the pilot off, and started to run the furnace, to purge out the unused gas, for about 10 minutes. 

Then I was ready to relight the pilot, so I turn its knob to pilot, and tried to light it with no anvil. I told "Tia" you  may  need a new thermocouple and told her not to worry they're less than $5 (they're nothing but copper tubing). In fact, I had a few thermocouples in my tool box. After installing the new thermocouple,  I again  purged the unused gas out, and then lit the pilot and it work. 

I told "Tia" it will probably take 3 to 5 minutes for the burners to light, each time. because it has to make sure  all the unused gas is purged from it. I turn the thermostat up to 76 and it work ."Tia"now can stay warm; "Tia" even tough still scare of me and still keeping her distance said "thank you" and I told her she's welcome and just went home.

After a few weeks "Tia" knock on my door and when I answered it, she ask me if I wanted to join her and her sister for dinner, just to say "thank you", I accepted the offer and about a couple of months, after that, she got comfortable with me and we became platonic friends ever since.

In fact whenever "Tia" wanted to talk to me, she now walks closer to me. It took her awhile for her to trust me, but she knows now I won't do anything or say anything that would make her uncomfortable.(end)

COVID-19 VACCINES; GIT HER DONE

 A FEW WEEKS AGO, I HAD AN APPOINTMENT TO GO TO MY PHARMACY AND GET INJECTED WITH THE COVID-19 VACCINE. AFTER IT WAS INJECTED, I HAD TO WAIT 15+ MINUTES BEFORE I WAS ALLOWED TO GO HOME.CHECKING FOR SIDE EFFECTS.

WHEN I GOT HOME I GOT A LITTLE DIZZY, AND COULDN'T URINATE FOR AT LEAST A HALF A DAY,BUT AFTER AWHILE I WAS ABLE, THAT AND A SLIGHT HEADACHE. BETTER THAN A COFFIN I GUESS.

AFTER ABOUT A MONTH ; I WILL TAKE MY SECOND DOSE WHICH HAS SIDE EFFECTS LIKE: COLD CHILLS, HEADACHES ETC. BUT SHOULD GO AWAY IN ABOUT 4 DAYS, IN SOME PEOPLE IT GOES AWAY IN JUST ONE DAY.

BIDEN ORDERED THE VACCINES TO BE DELIVERED DIRECTLY TO OUR PHARMACIES, BY PASSING OUR STATES, IT SAVES TIME, MOST VACCINES WERE DELIVERED BY OUR UNITED STATES MILLIARY.SO IN THE UNITED STATES, IF YOU SEE AN ARMORED TRUCK SITTING IN FRONT OF ANY PHARMACY, IT MAY CONTAIN THE COVID-19 VACCINES.

My Visit To Andrea Jurgens In Heaven

 Andrea Jurgens  (last name pronounce as Yo-Gins) was a German singer ,who died in 2017 from a stroke.

 I always wanted to meet her. When I was  younger and looking at the night sky, I  had  always believed that ,when a person dies ,that person becomes a shiny star in the heavens.

 If so ,then Andrea Jurgens must be there somewhere;  I thought to myself, maybe I can pray to God, to see if  I can go visit her in heaven, just for one time.

At night praying beside my bed, I have had asked God if I may visit Andrea Jurgens in heaven ?, and went to bed, after  few minutes I  had felt a breeze, the next thing I knew, I was whisked off ,to a new land. Was I  in  heaven? It must have been  heaven, because I  had always wanted to give Andrea a yellow rose, that has had suddenly appeared out of no where.

Lo and behold, there standing in front of me was Andrea Jurgens, wearing black clothing and two necklaces, one of them was a cross, the other a  giant five point star, which I assume was made out of pure silver. I  gave  Andrea the yellow rose, she in return gave me the necklace with the giant silver five-pointed star and place it around my neck.

Suddenly Andrea had told me "You can say it, Stanley, I know your thoughts and I  also know your feelings,.......  you can say that you love me.....don't be afraid to say you love me, I will not be offended or be scared off or run away from you.. ",and that is what I  exactly what I did;  Crying , and almost down on my knees, my hand over my heart about to break down, I told Andrea in a choked voice and with many tears in my eyes  , that I love her. .  At that moment, I had felt another breeze, and found myself suddenly back in my own bed.

Did I actually had visited heaven or was it a dream? If it was a dream, then how do I explain, the silver five-point necklace star I had found that I was wearing around my neck? 

Maybe I already had such necklace, or someone probably lost it, and I found it. I got up from my bed and placed the necklace on top of my dresser drawers, and was going to put a lost and found ad in the newspaper the next day, then headed back to bed.

Soon as I had hit the mattress:  I saw a golden glow aura surrounding the necklace , it flew up by itself , in mid-air,  flew towards me and it was draped around my neck. 

Then suddenly I have heard Andrea's sweet angelic voice: "Stanley, keep the necklace, I gave it to you and thank you for your love, and remember..... 

There are millions of stars,..

Figuring Percentages In Your Head

 Okay, can you figure the answer to this equation in your head? What is 16% of 50?, see if you can figure it out in your head, I'll wait, pretend that Jeopardy music is playing :)

Remember the percent sign ("%") is a constant meaning it has a value, and the value of the percent sign alone with no numbers in front has the value of 1/100. So instead of writing the equation 16% of 50, we can write the formula this way 16 x (1/100) x 50 notice, it makes no difference if we multiply it forward ,or backwards, or start with any number ,and then multiplying the other two,it will always come out with the same answer (so long there is no other math functions  getting in our way). So the equation can be written another way, since it makes no difference  in which order we multiply them.

                             What is 16 % of 50 ? can be re- written it in our heads in a different way, by moving the percent sign, assigning the percent sign to the 50 rather than the 16:  

50 % of 16 which of course gives us the answer of 8; Yes, 16% of 50 equals eight ,and so  does 50% of 16 equals 8.

Okay, here is another one what is 40% of 30 ?  This is really simple, forget the zeroes and simply multiply ( 4 x 3) giving us the answer of 12. Yes, like before 40% of 30 equals 12, so does 30% of 40 equals 12. When a equation says "of" it means to multiply

Here is another one: What is 20% of 120 ? Again we forget  about the zeroes and simply multiply ( 2 x 12) giving us the answer of 24.As long both the percentage and the number are ending in zeroes, we are good.

So if one sees a dress that had an original price of $150 and  they have a 20% sell, you know that  you will be saving $30. 

By the way the symbol "/" means divided by, so what is 1 divided by 2 ? The answer of course is 1/2. If you have one apple and want to divide it with a friend you will give her/him one-half of it. (end)

The Power Of Suggestion

 Why did I like girls at the age where I am not suppose to like girls? Before I was in the 5th grade there was a song that came out in 1959 titled 'Alvin's Harmonica' maybe its lyrics  like  and I quote "We like girls, all kinds of girls" that , and a old movie I have had watched titled 'GiGi" Where the star Maurice Chevalier sang "Thank Heaven For Little Girls". Don't get me wrong ,the power of suggestion is real ,even the United States former president  had use it: "We're going walk up, ...and we're going to walk up there, and we're going to walk up there and I will be there with you. As a way to control his followers.Below is a music video of Alvin's harmonica:

However, as I had stated in my other posts ,beautiful identical twins came into my life, in the year 1963/I know now, it was actual pure love ,and not the power of suggestion. There I was ,on one summer night with Allison and Heidi ,as if we were three hearts beating as one. According to my health school book chemical changes were taken place inside of our bodies. I love the twins very much, Sadly a few months later ,they had to go back, but to this time to West Germany. Originally from the East.

In 1964 I was in the 6th grade. On one autumn day, one of my classmates ,a very beautiful blond named Linda came up to me with her hands folded in front of her and had asked me: "Stanley? , may I kiss you ?" I politely nod my head yes, but inside my head it was screaming 'HELL YEAH !' okay, moving on....
